Henrik von Müller: #morethansundowners! Seit Tagen wünschen mir die Kollegen viel Spaß auf meiner “sogenannten Dienstreise“. „Erhole Dich gut“, „Lass es nicht zu doll krachen“ oder „mach ein paar Fotos von Promis“ wird mir beim Vorbeigehen noch zugerufen, bevor sie ins Wochenende verschwinden. Als Abschiedsgeschenk steht eine Sonnencreme auf meinem Tisch. Berichte ich ein wenig von dem Programm und meinem vollen Terminkalender, der mich vor Ort erwartet, schauen mich alle ganz ungläubig an und zwinkern mir lächelnd zu, als ob ich gerade einen Scherz gemacht hätte. Und tatsächlich - betrachte ich die lange Liste an RSVP-Mailings, die Einladungen zu div. BBQ-Sessions und das bunte Sortiment an Sommerklamotten in meinem Koffer, dann beschleicht mich nun ebenfalls das Gefühl, dass ich morgen für eine Woche auf eine Art „All-Inclusive-Springbreak-Urlaub” für Werber fahre. Kaum einem anderen Event eilt der Ruf so schnell voraus, wie dem Cannes Lions Festival - alle reden von Poolparties, BBQ´s, Bändchen, Yachts und Rosé. Da rutscht das eigentliche Festival mit seinen unzähligen Vorträgen und Workshops schnell in den Hintergrund. Die Überschriften versprechen Creativity, Modern Media oder auch Futuristic Skincare... what? Bzw. Quoi? Die Themen sind endlos, bzw. am endlosesten, denn Jose Papa, der Leiter des Festivals, verspricht das "Jahr der Superlative". Kommende Woche werden wir uns unter die 30.000 Besucher in Cannes stürzen und gehören zu den 16.000 die ein Festival Ticket haben, um in den Genuss der Vorträge zu kommen. Wir werden berichten, ob nicht nur die Cocktailgläser Inhalt haben. Katja Perthel: more than rich and beautiful Cannes – schon der Name der südfranzösischen Stadt lässt Bilder im Kopf erscheinen: strahlend blauer Himmel, weiße Yachten - die im Hafen vor sich hindümpeln, der Strand - ein Meer aus Schirmen und Liegen, dazwischen Bikini-Schönheiten - nippend an Cocktails oder einer Flûte de Champagne. Doch was steckt wirklich hinter den „Schönen und Reichen“ von Cannes? Ist der Alltag hier so viel luxuriöser und mondäner als in anderen Städten? Fallen Alltag und Klischee ineinander oder ist doch alles nur eine Touristenfarce? Tatsächlich war Cannes vom Mittelalter bis in das frühe 19. Jahrhundert ein kleines Fischerdorf. In den 1830er Jahren kamen französische und ausländische Adelige in die Gegend und bauten ihre Feriendomizile an der Küste. Der berühmteste Gast war damals Kaiser Napoleon I besser bekannt als Napoleon Bonaparte. Bis heute gilt die Stadt als „Treffpunkt der Reichen und Schönen“ und hat sich seinen mondänen Charakter erhalten. Wie setzen sich die Schönen und Reichen während des Lions Festivals in Szene und gibt es hinter der hübschen Fassade tiefere Werte mit einer Schönheit des Geistes und Reichtum der Gedanken? Dies ausfindig zu machen, stelle ich mir als Aufgabe in Cannes - dem Austragungsort der kreativen Spiele rund um das 65. International Festival of Creativity vom 18. bis 22. Juni 2018.
