Digital confetti rain, a great opening show, great online networking tools and co. – that’s what I expected. I expected that after a year of digital worlds, digital events and full of new applications and implementation possibilities for the event and creative industry.
Because 2020 was a year full of change. And yes, I know: you’ve all probably heard that a thousand times.
But what I’m getting at is that a week at Cannes Lions LIVE really made me question what has remained despite the difficult and extraordinary past year. And for me, that is very clear: creativity. OUR creativity. And it hasn’t just remained, it has grown, grown in the face of challenges.
Because even if my expectations for the presentation of Cannes Lions Live 2021 were not met one hundred percent, as “Delegation Inspiration” we had exciting opportunities to be inspired anew, based on these very challenges – and it is precisely this inspiration that is giving my creativity an enormous boost right now.
So we were live at really great submissions, live talks and also live award shows – and thus part of it. And, for me, one of the most important aspects: We were able to experience this together, in a wonderfully mixed creative pack – in our own BW Lions Camp.
We were able to look at, talk about and discuss cases that inspired, fascinated or even surprised us.
We could get to know each other personally, learn from each other and “devour” new inspirations together.
So all that remains for me to say is that I look forward to more inspirations and quite a few creativity boosts from and in Cannes. So let’s use the powerful creativity to face lion strongly the future with the best ideas and bite!
