Baden-Württemberg meets Cannes. In 2018, Baden-Württemberg’s creative industry has again sent a delegation to France to take part in the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the well-known advertising and PR festival. Twelve representatives from the areas of advertising, live communication, sound design, visual effects/animation, film production, food trade and IT travelled to the south of France from 17th to 23th of June to identify the latest trends and make new international contacts at this important get-together for creative specialists. Baden-Württemberg is the only federal state in Germany that is sending its own delegation to Cannes.
This year, a Baden-Württemberg delegation attended the festival for the fifth time. In 2011, a first group of six creatives from Stuttgart participated, 2018 there were twelve from all over the federal state. Baden-Württemberg International (bw-i) organises the delegation’s trip to Cannes in collaboration with MFG Medien- und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg, the Film Commission Region Stuttgart, Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart and Netzwerk Kreativwirtschaft Baden-Württemberg, as part of bw-i’s stated mission, namely to internationalise Baden-Württemberg’s industry.
