Cannes 2019 – my highlights

Unfortunately it’s Friday again and the last day of the Cannes Lions Festival 2019 has begun. At the beach one or the other area is already dismantled and the creatives are happy that it slowly goes back home. An action-packed week with lectures, parties, screenings, BBQ’s, villas, yachts and oysters finds its big final today in our 120 minutes party.

We were able to enjoy a guided tour of the jury, where you also got to know what the approach of the expert jury is and what criteria is used to get to the point. In contrast to the ADC it is important to them, for example, that big companies and brands go home with lions because the “big ones” are more at stake and should be rewarded for their courage in creative campaigns.

Another highlight was the panel discussion with the managing directors of Mutabor and ADC. A very interesting round that provided great insights into the structures, admission criteria and goals.

For me, networking is still the top priority in Cannes and therefore a small list of parties and BBQ’s where I was playing next to the lectures:

Sunday: Long Beach
Monday: The Drum, Inkwell
Tuesday: Tantor and DeFalcon, Young Dogs, Martinez
Wednesday: Yessian Pool Party, Universal Beach, Brand Movie, Martinez
Thursday: German Beach by Weischer Media, Sizzer & Lumen
Friday: 120 minutes game – departure

I hope to see you at the Cannes Lions Reports 😉
