Delegates 2017

Maximilian Zenk

Studio Flox

Our business:

We create tactile stories. We believe, that if you can feel the artist’s hand through every single frame, it creates a strong connection to the audience. We focus on stop-motion-animation, made by human hands for human hearts.

My role:

As a managing partner, my main focus at the moment is creative producing, which means: guiding the client through the creative process. But my secret passions are writing copy, cnc-milling and tinkering in general.

Our most exciting project so far:

We recently did a project about the beginnings of world-changing ideas. At first, every idea starts on an empty sheet of paper, but from there on, it starts to grow. We took this quite literal and crafted inventions from the wheel to the space rocket out of paper.

 My goal in Cannes:

I really enjoy meeting new people! I’m super interested in: What does their creative workout look like? What are their routines and habits, and is there a secret sauce?

What I appreciate about Baden-Württemberg as a location for creative industries:

Baden-Wurttemberg is famous for tinkering and finding solutions. To be honest: There’s nothing we could relate more to!

Moritz Schreiner

The Royal Film Company

Our business:

We are a small film agency and filmproduction from Stuttgart. We design and produce advertising, image films, documentary and feature films. We try to link the different genres together to create new formats.

My role:

I´m the CEO and Producer I care more about the feature film and documentary film and I like to work on the conception of advertising.

Our most exciting project so far:

One of the most beautiful projects of recent years was a documentary film about a lonely farmer in France. It was nice to see how simple the world can be.

My goal in Cannes:

I want to broaden my horizons. Will learn new things and discover. And, of course, many exciting people meet.

What I appreciate about Baden-Württemberg as a location for creative industries:

It is small, fine and manageable and, in my opinion, one of the most creative places in the republic.

Scherin Rajakumaran

Lava Labs Moving Images

Our business:

Colourful images, that stand still and stir! And quite a lot of them.

My role:

Make sure everybody performs his little miracle at the right place, at the right time and has a great time doing it.

Our most exciting project so far:

Definitively our Escape Room 2.0!

My goal in Cannes:

In Cannes I hope to meet a lot of people, who are passionate about storytelling, design and content. Drinking a glas of Rosé, I would love to philosophize about the future and chat about how we could generate synergies in our industry.

What I appreciate about Baden-Württemberg as a location for creative industries:

Baden-Württemberg has a strong economy and such great potential with so many creative hidden talents! Many of you haven’t gotten acquainted with us here, but this is your chance. You should get to know us better and be two steps ahead for your next projects!

Mark Pelzer

Die Kavallerie

Sorry, this entry is only available in German.

Daniel Impertro

Donner und Doria Public Relations

Our business:

We tell stories and make sure that they are found, read, liked and shared.

 My role:

I’m a Junior Consultant for PR and Social Media.

Our most exciting project so far:

Our work on PR and content is less project-driven. We usually accompany and advise our customers over a long time – often spanning several years. Isn’t it more exciting to be able to influence the communication and public perception of a company for such a long time, and not just break into for one project?

My goal in Cannes:

To sniff the breeze of sea and future.

What I appreciate about Baden-Württemberg as a location for creative industries:

There is no hype, we just make it.

Niklas Dorn

Filestage

Our business:

Filestage is a web application for ad agencies to share, review and approve videos, designs, pdf documents and audio files with clients and co-workers.

My role:

As the CEO and co-founder I am in close contact with creative folks to further develop our software Filestage.

Our most exciting project so far:

We’ve developed great features for one of the biggest US video streaming platforms.

 My goal in Cannes:

I look forward to great talks with top notch creatives and marketers. As the founder of a tech startup I will have a close look at all the innovations that are visible at Cannes.

What I appreciate about Baden-Württemberg as a location for creative industries:

Great companies and agencies, highly creative workforce and the best weather in Germany.

Jens Kenserski

pulsmacher

Our business:

Communication and brand development in numerous areas, such as design, live-communication, architecture, digital, etc.

My Role:

Founder and managing director.

Our most exciting project so far:

For our clients we realize fascinating projects every day. Currently these are the ‘Digital Life Day’ from Daimler, the brand management of the Bosch Start-Up platform ‘grow’, the mentoring of ‘Uniqlo’ and many more.

My goal in Cannes:

I want to get inspired and have exciting conversations.

What I appreciate about Baden-Württemberg as a location for creative industries:

That it exists.

Christopher Karl

neolog Communications

Our business:
Anything difficult is being made simple by us. Our focus is on innovative products and products with a need of explanation, brands development as well as enterprise and corporation communication. We know how to develop and place ideas and contents so they find their way to the customer.

My role:
As a Creative Director I am responsible for our creative output. Finding the balance between re-defining the maximum effect of our ideas (“push the limits”) on the one side with the hands-on realization on the other side is my speciality.

Our most exciting project so far:
This is a difficult question, because the projects are so diverse. Highlights might be e.g. the bands communication for Consumer Electronics brand JBL or the new appearance of two merging hospitals.

My goal in Cannes:
Learning new things, meeting people and creative perspectives, develop my international network, communicate my insights at home.

What I appreciate about Baden-Württemberg as a location for creative industries:
We are proud to be very committed and reliable at the same time. We are also said to have a tendency to perfectionism.

Jennifer Moss

The Gekettez Design Studio & User Experience Design Consultancy

Our business:
We question things that are the way they have always been. We reduce the barrier between humans and machine through user centered design and encourage our clients to do the same.

My role:
Co-founder and mostly “good cop” in our UX pair design team. Art Director for digital media.

Our most exciting project so far:
We find projects most exciting if we get to play or learn something new. The end results can be very divers. A study and concept allowing a global enterprise the country- and culture-specific optimization of  their website is just as fascinating to us as the development of a user centered guided tour for a museum of local history.

My goal in Cannes:
To find lasting inspiration through innovative concepts, extraordinary work methods and a lively exchange in person. Scout creative development companies. Spend at least one morning skating down the promenade de la Croisette.

What I appreciate about Baden-Württemberg as a location for creative industries:
Different countries, cities with individual creative and entrepreneur scenes, a diverse range of clients are all  a stone’s throw away in Baden-Württemberg, which has developed a diversity that can be hard to find in other regions or metropolises

Bettina Klammt

Baden-Württemberg International

Our business:

We support companies, universities and research institutions of the State of Baden-Württemberg with diverse offerings for internationalization and make the location Baden-Württemberg known worldwide.

My role:

As Deputy Head of Department International Economic Cooperation and Location Marketing I take care of developing our programs, organizing business missions, hosting foreign delegations, supporting my colleagues as well as our clients and partners. And sometimes I’m in charge of special additional projects.

Our most exciting project so far:

The organization and implementation of a delegation visit of the Minister President of the State of Baden-Württemberg and the Minister of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing and 70 very interesting members of the delegation to Israel in March 2017. The thematic focus was on getting to know the “Start-up Nation”, catching its spirit as well as digitization of industry, data security, smart manufacturing.

My goal in Cannes:

Getting to know the issues that are relevant for this years’ BW lions as well as collecting further arguments to keep this business mission to the Cannes Lions Festival an integral part of our foreign trade program in the following years.

What I appreciate about Baden-Württemberg as a location for creative industries:

Creativity, coupled with innovation, is simply lived every day across many companies in all industries.

Esther Fehn

Medien- und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg

Our business:

We support and promote the creative industries both in and for the region of Baden-Württemberg.

My role:

I am part of the unit “Culture and Creative Industries” team at MFG. Being an events manager I am responsible for the conception and running of various events, including the MFG Academic Programme. Through further training opportunities in a variety of fields, such as marketing, public relations, law, and commerce, we aim to provide sustained support to  creative professionals in Baden-Württemberg in their day-to-day work and to enable them to progress with their endeavours.

Our most exciting project so far:

Organizing the BW-Community Stand at the Frankfurt Book Fair and at the Gamescom in Cologne is very cool but the most exciting project at the moment, however, is of course organizing the BW Lions delegates’ trip to Cannes. First-hand experience of how such a campaign is brought to life has not only provided me with new insights into this particular field but has also sparked new creative ideas personally.

My goal in Cannes:

To experience the latest trends and movements in advertising and to successfully coordinate the BW-Lions’ schedule, central to which is, of course, the organisation of the Delegates’ 120 Minute Beach Party.

What I appreciate about Baden-Württemberg as a location for creative industries:

The creative professionals involved are passionate about what they do. The willingness for cooperative exchange and the courage to explore new paths never fail to impress me.
